Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić spoke today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Burundi Albert Shingiro about improving bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Đurić emphasised Serbia’s commitment to developing relations and cooperation with all African countries with which we share traditional friendship, expressing readiness and openness to build on historical foundations our bilateral relations.
Expressing satisfaction with the establishment of a more regular political dialogue between Serbia and Burundi at a high level, he assessed that this will be an additional impetus to raise the friendship and cooperation between our countries in areas of mutual interest to a higher level.
According to him, there is great potential for improving bilateral economic cooperation, as well as strengthening ties in the IT sector and agriculture, noting that cooperation in the field of education is already successfully taking place through the scholarship program for foreign students “The World in Serbia”.
The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to Burundi for its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
