Serbia, Burundi sign a number of cooperation documents

Belgrade, 12 March 2025

Members of the governments of the Republic of Serbia and Burundi signed today at the Palace of Serbia, in the presence of the presidents of the two countries, Aleksandar Vučić and Évariste Ndayishimiye, several documents on cooperation in various areas.

The two countries signed nine agreements and memoranda on mutual cooperation, including the Letter of Intent between the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Community Development and Public Security of Burundi.

This document was exchanged by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of Burundi Albert Shingiro.

An Agreement between the Government of Serbia and the Government of Burundi on Economic Cooperation was also signed, which was exchanged by Minister of Economy Adriana Mesarović and Minister Shingiro.

The signed documents also include a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of agriculture, an agreement on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports, and an agreement on the establishment of a joint cooperation commission.

Also signed were an agreement on cooperation in the field of education, a memorandum of understanding on sports, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of tourism, and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies.
