Minister of Family Affairs and Demography Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski spoke today with Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Florence Bauer, about the organisation of the upcoming global conference on demographic sustainability, with a special focus on women in rural areas.

The goal of this gathering, which will be held in October this year in Serbia, on the International Day of Rural Women, is to promote positive practices and programs that various countries are implementing in the field of economic and social empowerment of women in rural areas.
Đurđević Stamenkovski invited the Population Fund to join, with its rich experience, in organizing the aforementioned conference.
Bauer praised Serbia for all the measures it is implementing to improve population policy, emphasising its openness to any form of cooperation related to the organization of the upcoming conference.
