At a press conference in the government press room, which was also attended by US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill, Brnabic pointed out that the works on the landslide sanction at that archaeological site will last until March next year, noting that the domestic project of the studio AKVS Architecture won in the international architectural and urban design competition for this Neolithic site.
The Prime Minister said that the arrangement of the site in Vinca will cost around €3 million, which is as an investment that we owe to generations to come.
Brnabic mentioned that a complex will improve the beauty of life in that place, with a large park and a bicycle path, as well as a visitor centre on the site itself, which will make Grocka a completely different place to live.
Director of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments Dubravka Djukanovic said that the conditions are being created for Vinca, after more than 100 years and decades of neglect, to be on the European research map and on the cultural and tourist routes.
She stated that RSD 141 million is allocated for that project from the budget and $475,000 from the donation of the US Ambassador's Fund.
Ambassador Hill said that this is a project that has great significance for Serbia and for the world, and that the accepted solution seems truly impressive, and the visitor center is extraordinary.
Hill reminded that the roof of the Rakovica Monastery, the work around the Uzice Fortress, the frescoes in Studenica and the façade of the "Svetozar Markovic" library in Belgrade were all funded by the US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation.
