Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic welcomed today Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania Edi Rama at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade.
Rama will participate in regional conference “Renewable energy investment opportunities in the Western Balkans”, organised by the embassies of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade and Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Nordic Business Alliance, the Norway-Bosnia and Herzegovina Business Association and Norwegian partners for cooperation in the field of energy.
Minister Djedovic wished welcome to Prime Minister Rama and said that she believes that joint participation in the conference will give an additional impetus to the cooperation between Serbia and Albania in the field of energy, which is defined by the Memorandum of Understanding.
The Memorandum, which was signed as part of the Open Balkans initiative, envisages mutual support in investment projects in new energy capacities, especially when it comes to the construction of a terminal for liquefied natural gas in Albania.
The document also foresees the development of energy capacities that use renewable energy sources and connection in all areas of the energy sector, but also in the mining and geology sectors.
