Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali said today that the selection of Serbia as the host of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 is great news for our country and citizens.
Mali, who was also the chairman of the Working Group for drafting and submitting the candidacy for EXPO 2027, emphasised in a statement for the Tanjug agency that this is a great honour for our country, especially considering the fact that Belgrade won in very strong competition.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced that this prestigious event will be held from 15 May to 15 August 2027, with the assessment that Belgrade will be the economic centre of the world during EXPO 2027.
We expect more than three million visitors, and estimates are that the total effect of this exhibition will be more than one billion euros, Mali said and added that the choice of Serbia as the host of EXPO 2027 is a confirmation of the correctness of the economic policy that our country is leading.
He estimated that this victory means a lot for Serbia because it will increase the attractiveness of the country for the opening of new factories, new jobs and new investments, which all mean a better life and standard of citizens.
