Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended in Valjevo today the ceremonial opening of the third factory of the Hisense Europe company, and on that occasion pointed out that this investment will create 1,020 new jobs in the next three years.
Brnabic specified that Hisense now employs slightly less than 1,800 workers, which means that the Hisense Group in Serbia will employ more than 3,000 people in production alone in the next three years.
She expressed her gratitude to the Hisense Group because in this way they show enormous respect and trust in Serbia, but above all in our people - their quality, knowledge, discipline and potential to create some common added value that we will export from here, from Valjevo, all over Europe and the world.
The Prime Minister recalled that three large investments were realised in Valjevo, stating that in addition to Hisense, two German companies also opened factories this year – Hansgrohe, which employs 1,000 workers and Bizerba, which employs some more than 300 workers.
According to her, in addition to these investments, there are ambitious plans for Valjevo, considering that the completion of the Iverak-Lajkovac high-speed road and the connection of Valjevo with the highway Milos the Great are planned.
She also said that the completion of the gasification project and the connection of the entire Valjevo to the gas network of Serbia is planned, followed by the completion of a sports hall, additional investments in the amount of €110 million in the General Hospital, whereas the Gerontological Centre is completed and awaiting an exploitation permit.
Brnabic pointed out that Valjevo is a city of great potential, extremely close to Belgrade, and thanks to the Milos the Great highway and a fast road, it is even closer to the capital.
With the construction of the ring road, there will be no reason why someone who lives in Belgrade will not come to live and work in Valjevo. This is a common practice in Western European countries. When you have a good infrastructure, such things are possible and natural, so there will be no problems with jobs, the Prime Minister stated.
With the opening of this new, third factory in Valjevo, Gorenje becomes the centre of production of the refrigeration technology programmes - refrigerators and freezers for the Hisense multinational corporation, which is among the world’s leaders in this field.
The total production in all three factories in Valjevo will reach 1.7 million devices by 2025, and the number of employees will be almost 3,000.
With the new production facilities in Valjevo, Serbia is one of the largest producers of refrigerators in the world. As part of the new, third factory, which spans 35,000 square metres, a modern restaurant for employees has been made, which for the management and the trade union of Gorenje is an example of good cooperation in improving working conditions.
