Prime Minister Miloš Vučević spoke today with Secretary General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes about the importance of the EXPO 2027 Plan for both Serbia and the region.
Vučević said that EXPO 2027 is an opportunity for investment, especially when it comes to infrastructure projects, but also everything else related to that world exhibition.
The EXPO 2027 plan is a new engine for strengthening our economy, as well as the essence of politics - an opportunity to create better conditions for the lives of our citizens and build new hospitals and schools, the Prime Minister said.
The Secretary General of the International Bureau for Exhibitions conveyed to Vučević that there is a huge interest of the representatives of the member countries of that bureau to come to Serbia, especially considering that the EXPO has never been held in these areas.
According to him, there is a desire among them to see something new, but also to potentially stay living or work in Serbia.
At the meeting, it was pointed out that an exhibition like EXPO helps the development of a country, because after its completion, a new chapter begins for the host country and the entire region.
The officials agreed that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop skills and acquire knowledge in various areas already in the preparatory phase, which will be valuable for other countries that would like to host in the future.
EXPO is the branding of a country in the world, a guarantor of peace and stability, because it is a period for economic development, it was concluded at a meeting held in the government of Serbia.
