Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić spoke today with Ambassador of Italy to Serbia Luca Gori about Serbia's European path, as well as a joint celebration of 145 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
On that occasion, Đurić emphasised that membership in the EU is Serbia's strategic commitment, and expressed his gratitude for the support that Italy provides to our country in the process of European integration.
According to him, although they have different opinions and views on certain topics, Serbia and Italy share partnership relations.
The minister informed the ambassador about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the position of Serbs in the province and the state of negotiations with Priština.
The head of Serbian diplomacy pointed out that Serbia wants to cooperate closely with Italy on all issues that are of national interest to both countries, as well as that there is room for improving cooperation in many areas.
Given that this year marks the 145th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Italy, as well as 15 years since the signing of the strategic partnership agreement, the interlocutors emphasised that these are important dates from the common history that need to be marked in a proper way.
