Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić said during talks with International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Chair Lord Eric Pickles today that Serbia is committed to fostering a culture of remembrance for Jewish, Serbian, and Roma victims of World War II.

Ristić, who serves as Head of Serbia’s Delegation to the IHRA, emphasised that this particularly refers to the victims of genocide committed by the WWII-era Independent State of Croatia (NDH) against Serbs, Jews and Roma.
The Minister conveyed Serbia’s concern over the increasing instances of distorting facts from the WWII period, especially those related to the denial of the genocidal nature, scale and territorial spread of the mass crimes committed against Serbs, Jews and Roma by the NDH.
He pointed out the necessity for significantly more intense cooperation among all international actors to counter these uncivilised phenomena.
