The Fourth Industrial Revolution is under way, with innovation defining every aspect of our lives, Begović said, noting that this is why we must ask ourselves whether we are ready to lead this change or observe it from the sidelines.
According to her, Serbia has chosen not only to participate but to be a leader, with the country’s dedication to innovation evident in initiatives such as the BIO4 Campus, which is aimed at positioning Serbia as a key European and global biotechnology centre.
World Economic Forum (WEF) Managing Director Mirek Dušek and UN Assistant Secretary-General and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States Ivana Živković also spoke at the opening.
AI_4_LIFE: Biotech Future Forum is organised by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, the Office for IT and eGovernment, the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the WEF and the UNDP, with the support of the BIO4 Campus.
The conference has gathered more than 1,000 participants from over 66 countries, including 66 international speakers encompassing government representatives, the academia, scientists, researchers, and businesspeople.
