Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Jelena Begović met today with Director-General of the European Commission Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert Jan Koopman to discuss cooperation between the EU and Serbia in the process of construction and development of the BIO4 Campus in Belgrade.

Additional strengthening of EU-Serbia partnership in field of biotechnology

The two officials assessed that the BIO4 Campus, as a regional biotechnology centre, is of exceptional importance given that biotechnology, alongside artificial intelligence, is one of the most important technologies of today.
The internationalisation of education within the BIO4 Campus was also discussed, with a special focus on including students from the region in the faculties that will be a part of the Campus.
The two officials underlined that cooperation within these projects will be formalised by the end of the year, which will additionally strengthen the partnership between the EU and Serbia in the field of biotechnology and artificial intelligence.
