At a press conference at Nikola Tesla Airport, on the occasion of the first flight of the Air Serbia wide-body aircraft to the Chinese city of Tianjin, which will take off today at 2:10 p.m., Brnabic pointed out that this flight will connect Belgrade not only with Tianjin, but also with Beijing, which can be reached by high-speed rail in half an hour.
She estimated that a better transport connection between the two countries will improve the economic cooperation between Serbia and China, but will also further connect the two countries on a cultural level, given that national representative offices of culture of both nations have been opened in the two countries’ capitals.
Due to the current restrictions due to COVID-19, flights between the two cities will be operated once a week, from Belgrade to Tianjin on Fridays, while return flights from the largest port in the northern part of China to the Serbian capital will be operated on Sundays.
By establishing a direct route to China, Air Serbia will enable good connections via Belgrade to many destinations in its network, such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Oslo, Paris, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Ljubljana, Valencia, Prague, Venice, Valencia, Zagreb and other destinations throughout Europe and in the wider Balkan region.
