Outgoing Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić said during talks with EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Priština Dialogue Peter Sørensen today that a stronger role of the EU is necessary in the coming period to facilitate the continuation of the dialogue and the search for compromise solutions.

At the meeting, Đurić assessed that there has been no progress in the Belgrade-Priština dialogue for years and that the first prerequisite for its revival is the establishment of trust among all parties in the process.
Noting that Belgrade supports the work of the Special Representative, Đurić stated that the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, as well as the implementation of other obligations agreed upon in the Brussels Agreement, are key factors for normalising relations.
According to him, the unilateral actions of Kurti’s regime in recent years have placed Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija in an extremely difficult position, further straining already fragile relations between the Albanian and non-Albanian populations.
